It's safe to say that things aren't going well for Elias Pettersson in Vancouver, and now his Head Coach has ripped his recent play in his latest interview.

This season has been a whirlwind for the Vancouver Canucks, and given all the drama that has surrounded this team off the ice, it's easy to understand that some of their players may be a bit distracted.

However, they're just one point up on the Calgary Flames in the Western Conference Wild Card race, and with one of their biggest distractions in J.T. Miller already traded, many believed they'd turn things around.

Unfortunately, Elias Pettersson's season has simply gone from bad to worse even after trading his locker room rival, with the 26-year old tallying just five goals and six points over his last 15 games.

Now, Head Coach Rick Tocchet has ripped his recent play in his latest interview,

I think he's waiting for something. I don't know if it's a lack of confidence in his shot, but as soon as he has room, he's got to take it and, just got to blast it. I'd rather him just rip a puck right now.

He's not moving his feet. I thought today, some shifts he was moving his feet and it looked like we had some glimpses. But six-on-five there at the end it's the same thing, waiting. if he just takes two or three strides... I don't know if it's a mental block right now, all ear, but he's got to move his feet.

With 35 points in 51 games this season, Pettersson has managed some production, but given how much they need him to step up as their 1C and as a leader right now, but with comments like these from his Head Coach, it's unclear if he'll be able to fully turn it around at any point this season.
