Ivan Demidov gave Montreal Canadiens fans a reason to smile, and Martin St-Louis has every reason to believe this group is far from finished.

A few days after the season ended, Demidov broke his silence with a message on Instagram that felt personal, timely, and full of meaning.

The 20-year-old did not go long.

He did not need to. His words landed because they matched the mood around this team and where it looks headed next.

He first thanked the people around him.

That included management, the coaching staff, and his teammates after a season where the group stayed together right to the end.

That kind of message matters in Montreal.

Fans pay attention to who embraces the market, who understands the standard, and who wants to be part of something bigger.

Demidov clearly does.

A short message that says a lot from Ivan Demidov

The line that stood out most was simple and strong: "We're just getting started," the striker wrote, which bodes well for what's to come.

That is the kind of statement Canadiens fans wanted to hear from a young player who just finished his first full campaign and already looks comfortable in the spotlight.

He even closed the post in French with, "Thank you Montreal! Go Bleu Blanc Rouge!", a nod that did not go unnoticed across the fan base.

It also echoed the feeling that followed the playoff exit, especially after Rod Brind'Amour told Martin St-Louis during the handshake line that the Canadiens are just getting started.

Demidov backed up that optimism with real production.

He finished his first full season with 62 points in 82 games, a strong return for a player adjusting to the league at 20.

He kept contributing once the games got heavier, adding 9 points in 19 playoff games during his first taste of postseason hockey.

That is what makes this message hit harder. Demidov is not selling hope on words alone. He already gave Montreal a real glimpse of what is coming next.

Now the focus shifts to September, and that is where the excitement starts building again for Demidov and the Canadiens.
