Dylan Larkin's trade talk has picked up again this week, but one voice is pumping the brakes hard on any real movement.

"I really don't see anything happening until Detroit hires a new GM and Larkin opens up his trade list," the account posted.
That's a real bottleneck. Larkin's full no-trade clause means he currently controls exactly which teams Detroit can even talk to, and that list reportedly stays limited to Minnesota, Florida, and Vegas for now.
Detroit's front office situation adds another layer entirely. With Steve Yzerman stepping away from the GM chair, there's genuinely nobody with full authority to negotiate a deal of this size right now.
The account pointed specifically to Dallas, Vegas, and Florida as teams unlikely to meet Detroit's asking price given what they'd actually have to give up.

Minnesota already ran into this exact wall directly, with a previously reported deal stalling once Detroit saw the actual names the Wild were willing to include.
That leaves Larkin's approved list looking thinner than the volume of chatter around him would suggest. Three contenders, none particularly eager to gut their own center depth for a rental-adjacent asset.
Would Larkin actually expand his list to include a non-contender if these three teams stay unwilling to meet Detroit's price? That's the real question hanging over this whole situation.
