Mark Stone dropped the gloves with Brandon Montour tonight, and the Golden Knights veteran made it clear afterward what set him off.
"He was saying some things about our team I didn't like," Stone said.

The Vegas forward added a line that will make the rounds. "I'm not gonna fight too many 5-on-3s, but I just didn't like some of the things he was saying about the team."
The two went at it for a long time. Even after they were separated, they kept trying to get back at each other.
Then came the part that raised eyebrows. Montour was handed a game misconduct, and Stone was not.
Vegas cruised to a 6-2 win in Seattle, improving to 3-1-0. The Kraken fell to 2-2-0 on home ice.
Ryan Craig's Golden Knights get a veteran statement from Mark Stone
Stone, 34, carries a $9,500,000 cap hit and already has four points and a +5 this season.
Standing up for teammates against a chirping defenceman is exactly the message a leader sends to a room.

Montour, 32, carries a $7,142,857 cap hit for Seattle. His night ended early, and Lane Lambert lost a defenceman for the rest of the game.
The officiating didn't add up. If both players kept going after being separated, both should have been handed the same misconduct.
It's like breaking up a schoolyard scuffle and sending only one kid to the principal's office.
Vegas hosts Toronto on Thursday, while Seattle visits Detroit on Friday.
Montour learned what happens when you talk about Stone's team. The rest of the league just got the same message for free.
Should Mark Stone have received a game misconduct too?
