Jason Zucker was left in a ton of discomfort Thursday night in Anaheim after Sabres teammate Ryan McLeod went sliding into him.

The chain started with Frank Vatrano, who tripped up McLeod and sent him skidding into Zucker along the boards.

The clip shows two white sweaters tangled low against the wall, an official a few feet away, while the Ducks carry the puck the other way.

How serious it is remains unknown. Nothing about the trip looked like a hockey crime, but the fallout is what turned it into a story.

The 34-year-old has dressed for just 3 of Buffalo's 12 games this season, scoring once on the power play.

McLeod hasn't had an easy go of it either, sitting at -5 with 3 points through 12 games.

Add up the two cap hits and that's $9,750,000 worth of Buffalo forwards in one pile along the boards.

Jason Zucker left in pain after scary collision with Sabres teammate Ryan McLeod

Buffalo came into Thursday at 5-4-3, fresh off a 2-0 win in San Jose on Tuesday.

The injury list was already crowded. Jiri Kulich is day-to-day with a concussion, expected out until at least November 4.

Sam Carrick and Matthew Grzelcyk are both on injured reserve, and Justin Danforth is day-to-day with an upper-body issue.

It's the hockey version of dominoes falling the wrong way. One push at one end, and the guy at the far end pays for it.

So can Buffalo absorb another loss to the lineup? The Sabres have allowed 44 goals in 12 games, and they don't have bodies to spare.

The crease hasn't bailed them out much, with Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen carrying an .866 save percentage.

Anaheim came in at 5-6-1 and just 1-3-1 on home ice.

Vatrano, the man who started the whole sequence, has 3 points in 7 games for the Ducks this season.

This is the first of two meetings between these teams, with the rematch set for December 12 in Buffalo.

The Sabres head up the road to face the Kings on Saturday. Whether Zucker is ready for that one is the question hanging over Buffalo's bench tonight.
