The New York Rangers were in Pittsburgh to take on the Penguins in a Sunday matinee and it was a physical affair in the second period.
Late in the middle frame, Rangers captain Jacob Trouba laid a HUGE hit on Penguins forward Alexander Nylander. Nylander was receiving a stretch pass in the neutral from Jeff Petry and just after he re-directs it into the Rangers' zone, Trouba comes in an levels the 25-year-old.
Nylander was fine and popped right back up, but Penguins forward Evgenii Malkin came to the defence of his teammate and cross-checked Trouba, which started a scrum in front of the Rangers net. It was Trouba who has the last laugh though, as Malkin received the only penalty on the play - two minutes for roughing.
