Reports are indicating that Carolina Hurricanes forward Teuvo Teravainen could be on the move to the Chicago Blackhawks.

Teravainen's Tenure In Carolina Comes To An End

Teuvo Teravainen would leave Carolina after seven seasons. At his best Teravainen has been one of the best forwards in Carolina. In his best season 2018-19, Teravainen put up 76 points in 82 total games. Recently his production has fallen off and his cap hit is preventing the Canes from making any major moves. This could lead to Teravainen finding a new NHL home sooner rather than later.

A Reunion In Chicago?

Teuvo Teravainen would return to the team that drafted him in Chicago. He was selected 18th overall in the 2012 NHL Draft. He spent the first three years of his NHL career in Chicago winning a Stanley Cup in 2015.

At What Cost?

The cost of acquiring Teravainen has dropped significantly over the last couple of seasons. He could probably be traded for with a mid-round pick and a prospect going the other way. This would work well for Chicago as they have picks and prospects to spare and could use added veteran leadership in the lineup.
