The 2022 NHL Draft was shocking one for many reasons, but most of all the snub of Shane Wright as the No. 1 overall pick, as he was expected by many to be taken at that spot before eventually falling to the Kraken at No. 4.
The free fall continues
Despite this fall, many still expected him to be a top tier prospect in the NHL, but thus far he has managed just 8 games at the NHL level, and is quickly being passed over by other names.
That's become even more evident in recent days, as the NHL Network has released its list of top prospects in the league, with Wright falling all the way to No. 15.

A deep list of prospects
Ahead of Wright are the likes of Connor Bedard and many 2023 NHL Draft names, as well as Logan Stankoven, Matthew Knies, Cutter Gauthier and other intriguing names.
At just 19-years of age, there's plenty of time for Wright to turn it around, but at this point in time, there's plenty who doubt his potential as a prospect, even after scoring 37 points in 20 games for the Windsor Spitfires a season ago.
