Former NHL all-star John Scott in the works for return to the San Jose Sharks
After his not-so-subtle hint on the Dropping The Gloves Podcast, Sharks fans suspect that fan favorite and former NHL all-star John Scott could return to San Jose.
The San Jose Sharks have become a laughing stock in the NHL after a worse-than-failed performance in the last season. The team was lucky enough to pull in their first-ever number-one draft pick in 2024, signing Macklin Celebrini to an entry-level contract last month.

However, Celebrini is not the only player who has garnered recent attention from Sharks fans. Lately, San Jose hockey fans have circulated the idea that former NHL all-star John Scott could make a return to the team.
Though many of these discussions are little more than rumors, John Scott was the source of the idea himself. In a recent edition of the Dropping The Gloves Podcast, Scott ended the episode by dropping more than a hint that he could be back in San Jose in the near future.
Though Scott does not specify what his business in San Jose will be, it seems to be a pretty clear indication he will be somewhere around the Sharks organization sometime ahead. At almost 42 years old and 8 years into retirement from the Montreal Canadiens, it is unlikely he will be on the ice. Additionally, his location would make regular broadcasting in the area difficult. Provided this, fans believe he will be part of Jumbo's ceremony.
John Scott played 38 games for the Sharks in the 2014-15 season, becoming a fan favorite and part of the franchise's history. Whatever his role will be, he can expect to be met with open arms during his next stay in San Jose.
