Since the passing of Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau, SAP Center usher Susie Diaz made it a point to have the brothers remembered in a most special way. She ordered number 13 pins for all ushers in San Jose to make sure it was one collective gesture in remembering them. That was so kind of her and just goes to really show the depth of dedication at the SAP Center community.
Unfortunately, Susie Diaz passed away in September and did not complete her thoughtful gesture. Her family, although absent in her presence, made sure that her wish was fulfilled, and the pins came tonight to the SAP Center to remember the memory of Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau. It speaks to the family's commitment in much the same way that Susie showed her caring spirit and commitment to her work and community.
Jesusita "Susie" Diaz was a valued member of the San Jose Sharks guest experience and ushering team, serving fans and the team for over 20 years. Colleagues will remember her as an industrious and reliable presence, the type of positive attitude and service that SAP Center prides itself on offering.
Warm, friendly, and loved by fans and staff alike, Susie was one of those people who drew others to her. Her long-serving commitment made her a valued and well-respected part of the San Jose Sharks family. The impact she had went well beyond duty as she created lasting bonds with those she worked alongside and the many fans she greeted over the years.
As SAP Center honors the memory of the Gaudreaus and Susie Diaz herself tonight, it recognizes a lady who gave much in the way of thought and dedication. The image of her act and decades of service are indelibly etched in the memory, speaking volumes for community and remembrance.
