This past weekend wasn't a fun one for the Montreal Canadiens, as they lost a frustrating game to the New York Rangers on Saturday by a score of 4-3.
However, that one didn't come without controversy, as a clear trip was missed in the dying seconds on forward Joel Armia, resulting in the game winning goal for New York that many believe should not have happened.
Unsurprisingly, Head Coach Martin St. Louis was furious after the game, but kept himself somewhat composed, simply repeating this statement in his post-game press conference:
Some members of the organization didn't handle it quite as well however, as EVP of Hockey Operations Jeff Gorton reportedly punched a wall in frustration in front of reporters, with one reporter refusing to repeat what he said alongside this action.
From top to bottom, it's clear that this organization believed they'd be doing much better this season, but with the Canadiens sitting just one point off 32nd in the entire NHL, the frustrations are becoming hard to hide.
The talent is still there, with the likes of Caufield, Suzuki, Slafkovsky, Hutson, Reinbacher, Demidov all expected to be huge parts of the future, but for now, they simply can't put it together.
Whether or not they turn things around and push a little higher in the standings, it's clear that the rebuild is far from over, and with Gorton and MSL expressing their frustrations, it may be only a matter of time until a surprising change is made by the organization.
