Trevor Zegras' injury was a brutal break for the 23-year old, and now we know exactly how long he will be out of action for after he sustained a brutal knee injury during a recent clash with the Vegas Golden Knights.

This season has been a troubling one for Trevor Zegras in Anaheim, as the 23-year old star has seemingly taken a step back from his red-hot start to his NHL career, as he quickly became one of the most exciting players in the league.

Unfortunately, he's not been that player over the past two seasons, with his production dipping in 2024/25, with just 10 points in 24 games this season despite posting six points in his last nine games before the injury took place.

Now, things have gotten worse, as he sustained a brutal injury against the Vegas Golden Knights, and after getting a second opinion on his knee injury, Elliotte Friedman has now released the details of his situation.

According to Friedman, it's a torn meniscus for Zegras, and after undergoing successful surgery, he is expected to miss the next six weeks of action, the last thing a struggling young forward needed.

However, this could end up being a blessing in disguise, as this gives Zegras a chance to be away from the pressure and the spotlight for some time, with a mental reset clearly needed for a player that doesn't appear to be enjoying his hockey in 2024/25.

Despite taking a step back and dealing with injuries in the last 18 months, Zegras remains an incredibly talented player, and if he can come back stronger than ever both mentally and physically, there's no doubting that with time, he can get back to the player he once was that took the NHL by storm in his first two NHL seasons.
