Brooklyn Nets Center Nic Claxton was ejected from the game against the Toronto Raptors in the second quarter Thursday after throwing a ball into the stands.

Claxton was fouled in transition by Raptors Center Jakob Poeltl, leading to Claxton for an unknown reason flinging the ball that ended up flying into the stands towards spectators.

The referees immediately ejected Claxton from the game over the play. Claxton had not received a foul throughout the game, but faced a quick removal from action in Toronto.

Claxton continued to be angered for the ejection, grabbing a seat cushion from the Nets sideline chair appearing to aim it in a throwing motion, and had to be held back by team staff before being escorted away where he left to the Nets locker room, gone for the night.

A player who has struggled in the past to hide his emotions, Claxton said back in October he needed to watch over his temper after an ejection, saying he can't be kicked out of games and needs control.

This is already Claxton's third ejection of the season in just 21 games played this season, 1/7th of his 2024-25 season.

Coming into tonight, the 25-year-old Claxton is averaging 9.6 PPG and 2.3 APG along with a team leading 7.6 RPG in 25.3 MPG this season.

The Brooklyn Nets are 11th in the NBA's Eastern Conference with a 10-16 record, one win back of the Detroit Pistons for the final spot in the east's Play-In Tournament.
