Huge news out of Czechia as Jaromir Jagr makes a big decision on his future as a hockey player and an owner for the Kladno Knights in his home country.

It's the end of an era in hockey as a statement on the website of the Kladno Knights in the Czech Republic, the team owned by NHL legend Jaromir Jagr, says a big announcement is coming.

According to Idnes.cz in the Czech Republic, Jagr is selling the team, which he took over in 2011 from his father.

"Jaromír Jagr is selling the hockey club from Kladno. [It] will be taken over by businessman Tomas Drastil. According to initial reports, he will acquire 80 percent of the club, while Jagr is to keep 20 percent. Drastil first spoke about his interest in November, and now the situation is clearer."

Jagr, who has the second-most points in NHL history behind only Wayne Gretzky, not only owns the Kladno Knights, but has played for the team regularly since the 2017-18 season after retiring from the NHL.

The 52-year-old has often said that he worries the team would not be able to continue financially if he was no longer involved.

Jagr had already announced this would be his last season playing professional hockey. It was his 37th as a pro hockey player.

In addition to his multiple NHL records, Jagr won two Stanley Cups and five Art Ross trophies throughout his NHL career.

Kladno's website says an official announcement will be made on January 30, and all details of the sale will be released at that time.
