The Chicago Blackhawks are down early against the Calgary Flames, but the story of the game thus far has been the hit of Martin Pospisil on young star Connor Bedard.

Connor Bedard started the 2024/25 season slow, but in recent times he's found the touch once again, showing once more why he was one of the most hyped prospects in recent NHL history.

Because of this talent, he remains a major target for opposing teams, especially after getting early scoring opportunities, and that's exactly what has happened against the Calgary Flames on Saturday afternoon.

Early in the game, Bedard was troubling his opponents, so they responded in a very physical way, with Flames forward Martin Pospisil taking a run at Bedard and hitting him right in the head with an illegal play.

Shockingly however, the officials missed the call, with nothing being called on Pospisil, who has a history of rough, physical play in the NHL as he's built a reputation of being an absolute pest for his opponents.

After the play, captain Nick Foligno was seemingly trying to stand up for his young star, as he asked Pospisil to drop the gloves at the faceoff circle after a Jonathan Huberdeau goal.

Pospisil however didn't step up to the plate, and with two periods to go, it's safe to say that this isn't the last we'll hear of this very intriguing situation.

This isn't the first time we've seen someone go after Bedard, as the young star certainly presents a huge threat on the ice for opponents, and unfortunately, it likely won't be the last.

Despite no penalty being called on the play, there's a good chance that the NHL's Department of Player Safety take a look at the clear shoulder to the head of No. 98, so we will wait and see how this plays out moving forward.
