The Vancouver Canucks are still pushing hard to trade J.T. Miller, and now Elliotte Friedman has detailed a failed trade they could circle back too after interest in a trade for Miller was reignited following Jim Rutherford's comments.

The past few weeks have been nothing short of chaotic in Vancouver, with the team nearing trades on J.T. Miller, Elias Pettersson or potentially both as they look to shake things up with the team currently sitting outside the Stanley Cup Playoff race in the Western Conference.

There's been details of a failed trade with the New York Rangers, which Elliotte Friedman has now confirmed, revealing that Vancouver could potentially circle back too it as they were prepared to make the deal before it fell apart.

Friedman reiterates the reports we've already heard on the deal, stating that it was Filip Chytil, a first-round pick and a Rangers prospect heading West for Miller, and while Vancouver were prepared to do it, it appears that they simply couldn't push the trade over the finish line.

Since that point, President of Hockey Operations Jim Rutherford has publicly called out both Miller and Pettersson, with many in Vancouver believing that the team will be looking to deal one or the other imminently, with the potential for the front office to move on from both if they get the right return.

At this point in time, it's unclear whether or not the Rangers are still interested in chasing Miller, whether there's interest elsewhere or whether they'd want the deal to be different, but if the Canucks can get a solid young forward and flippable assets in return for the 31-year old, it's safe to say that no one would be surprised to see him moved very quickly.
