Eastern Conference Team In Trade Discussions With Canucks For Elias Pettersson
There is another team from the Metropolitan Division that has entered the Elias Pettersson trade sweepstakes, and talks have started to heat up.
TSN's NHL insider Pierre LeBrun wrote in Insider Trading that an Eastern Conference team and the Vancouver Canucks have negotiated for an Elias Pettersson trade.

The Columbus Blue Jackets have been one of the NHL's most fascinating new entrants in the current season, with a 25-19-7 record in a campaign full of perpetual shuffles and yet another coaching switch.
All of it in spite of key player injuries, and for that reason, their quest for an Eastern Conference wildcard spot is even more surprising.
Sean Monahan is piling up a point-per-game pace, and Zach Werenski and Kirill Marchenko have both outpaced expectations, with youngster Adam Fantilli, Kent Johnson, and Dmitri Voronkov maturing steadily, fortifying the team's emerging nucleus.
The addition of a high-class center in the form of Pettersson could be the ideal move to make Columbus a reliable playoff player.
As for trading both Pettersson and J.T. Miller, both have been considered, but the Blue Jackets have focused exclusively on Pettersson, and for a reason, with him being 26 years of age and possessing long-term upside.
Prior reports positioned the Carolina Hurricanes in negotiations with a proposed Pettersson deal, but then veered off in a new direction and signed Mikko Rantanen in a move, and NHL insider Elliotte Friedman added the Buffalo Sabres in a secondary group of interested parties in case Vancouver ends up trading Pettersson.
