Jack Roslovic and Adam Henrique are both walking away from the Edmonton Oilers and hitting the open market this offseason.

David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period reported it this afternoon, and at 25,000 views in just a few hours, this one moved fast.

Roslovic's situation is the more interesting story. The 29-year-old American forward put together a legitimate season: 21 goals, 15 assists, 36 points in 69 games.

Five of those were game-winners. That's not a guy padding stats in a soft role.

He carried a $1.5 million cap hit this year, which is essentially a heist. The question now is whether he walks into a top-six job somewhere or stays in a depth role at a higher price.

His playoff numbers were quiet - 1 point in 6 games - but the regular season holds up.

Henrique's $3M cap hit made playoff minutes a tough sell

Henrique is a different conversation entirely. He's 36, made $3 million this season, and finished with 3 goals, 12 assists, and 15 points in 65 games.

He went -12 on the season. The Oilers used him for just one playoff game.

One. That's basically being told the team moved past you without the press conference.

His last five regular season games: held scoreless, went -1. The numbers don't suggest a guy who can still drive anything at even strength.

He did chip in 2 shorthanded assists over the course of the year, and there's a veteran leadership argument to be made for any team that wants it.

But paying $3 million for 15 points and a -12 rating on a team that went 41-30-11 and still finished 14th overall - Stan Bowman doesn't need to be convinced that era is done.

For Edmonton, these two moves clear some cap space and some roster decisions at once. The Oilers finished the regular season with 93 points, second in their division, but there's clearly rebuilding around the edges happening this summer.

Roslovic will have a real market. His combination of 20-goal pace and a bargain contract makes him exactly what teams shopping for middle-six value will be calling about.

Henrique's market is harder to predict. Some team will want the veteran presence in the room, but the on-ice production argument gets thinner every month.
