Matthew Knies spent his entire summer hearing his own name attached to trade rumors, and there wasn't a thing he could do about it.
The Toronto Maple Leafs winger even had friends sending him the speculation directly throughout the offseason, a strange way to find out you might be traded.
Knies posted 66 points in 79 games last season, going minus-30 for a Leafs team that finished 32-36-14 and 28th overall.
