Dallas Mavericks Hit Rock Bottom as Fans Demand Refunds
Fans of the Dallas Mavericks are expressing their displeasure with the team after the Luca Doncic trade by demanding refunds on tickets.
Saturday night, the Dallas Mavericks shocked the NBA by trading superstar Luca Doncic to the LA Lakers in exchange for Anthony Davis.
The move was bewildering to fans and analysts alike who quickly found themselves wondering what the Mavericks were trying to accomplish with the move.
Many even believed that the trade was fake when the details were first announced.
The entire deal saw Luka Doncic, Maxi Kleber and Markieff Morris go to the Lakers in exchange for Anthony Davis, Max Christie, and a 1st round pick in 2029.
It is perhaps one of the most lopsided trades in the history not just of the NBA but of professional North American sports.
As a result, Mavericks fans are beyond upset about it. Apparently, fans have been creating such a fuss about the trade that the team has felt the need to offer refunds to season ticket holders for the remainder of the regular season.
The team has 16 home games left on their schedule this season.
With their current record of 26-24, the Mavs sit in 8th place in the Western Conference.
As a result, a trip to the playoffs is certainly no guarantee as the Kings, Suns, and Warriors are all just one game behind them, making missing even the play-in round a real possibility for Dallas this year.
Fans and analysts alike remain bewildered by the move, but apparently the Mavericks were concerned about Doncic's training regimen which is what prompted the move.
Obviously, that is a tough sell to the fans, who just watched their franchise star get moved for a less than ideal return.
