Vancouver Canucks Head Coach Rick Tocchet Buries His Players as Controversy Grows in the Locker Room

The Vancouver Canucks were embarrassed by the Boston Bruins on Saturday, and now their Head Coach has brutally called out the effort on the ice.

This season hasn't gone perfectly thus far for the Vancouver Canucks, but even so they find themselves sitting at 15-9-5 and in fourth place in the Pacific Division.

However, if the team show up like they did against the Boston Bruins on Saturday night, they won't have much hope this year as they team were outshot 28-20 and simply blown away as they were defeated 5-1.

After the game, Head Coach Rick Tocchet called out the effort of his players without naming names, and on Sunday he doubled down on that criticism, comparing them to the Pacific Division rival Edmonton Oilers in a brutal statement.

Tocchet noted that with Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl leading the way, Edmonton can get away with some players not turning up every night, but then brutally stated his team doesn't have the type of talent that allows them to do just that.

Tocchet will no doubt be hoping that with J.T. Miller and Thatcher Demko back, this serves as a wakeup call to a team that need to start building momentum early in the year, because with the talent they do have, they could be competing deep into the Stanley Cup Playoffs this season.
